Winter Glow Ball 2015: Saturday Night Fever

Of all the events I’ve run, The Arc of Monmouth’s 2015 Winter Glow Ball will stand out as a true career highlight.  Following several years of attempts to revitalize this 49 year old institution, this year truly got it right.

2015 featured a fun disco theme, a new location, excellent honorees and a fabulous planning committee.  The planning process was productive and efficient.  The buildup to the event was unparalleled, and the gala itself came off flawlessly.  The goal was to rebuild the audience in preparation for the event’s 50th Anniversary in 2016, and in the process raise over $200,000 for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.  Both goals were accomplished.

Without question, the most poignant element of the night was the increased presence of persons and families served by The Arc.  Many guests comments on this aspect, and that the event achieved a perfect combination of a truly fun event that drove home the message of the cause.
